I have read and re-read the letter in which Mr. Darcy has given me so many times. Each time I read it, a new feeling surfaces. I don't know why but I think I may be beginning to see Darcy as an actual human being capable of feelings.
Dear Lizzy, I know that I did act like a jerk at Netherfield Park, and I do admit that my proposal was a bit insulting. I also want to apologize for convincing my friend that your sister never loved him. But, please believe me that I never did anything to hurt Wickham; I don’t want you see me as the bad guy anymore. I also ask that you stop your friendship with Wickham, for I fear that his character will never change and that he will just bring unhappiness to you. -Darcy
